Best regards, Jakub Jez -- Dear colleagues, It is a great pleasure to invite you to the APPN<http://www.appn.at/> Workshop on Multispectral 3D Plant Imaging which will take place October 12th & 13th 2017 at the Vienna Biocenter. For the workshop, PHENOSPEX will visit the VBC with their new PlantEye F500 device and perform multispectral 3D scans of your samples. Your plants will be grown at the VBCF PlantS Facility and scanned one day before the workshop. Therefore, we need to receive your seeds in advance (deadline_1). Hands-on data analysis will be performed during the workshop - follow-up discussion of derived results will be discussed on the second day in individual meetings. “PlantEye F500 is a 3D laser scanner combined with multispectral information. It generates 3D point clouds of plants in high resolution and combines it on the fly with a 4-channel multispectral camera in the range of 400-900nm. EPPN2020: 1st Call for Transnational Access is open now!

1st Call for Transnational Access to the European Plant Phenotyping Network 2020 Application deadline: 11th of December 2017 Application instructions, eligibility criteria, contact information: https://eppn2020.plant-phenotyping.eu/Access_Call The European Plant Phenotyping Network 2020 (EPPN2020) is an EU-funded Research Infrastructure project with the overall goal to create structural and functional synergies between the plant phenotyping institutions in Europe by linking phenotyping experts, user communities and technology development. The EPPN2020 consortium has launched a call for applications for Transnational Access to: - 31 experimental plant phenotyping facilities - at 18 different institutions across Europe. Access is granted on the basis of a simple application procedure. Selected users obtain full support to perform the proposed experiments including: - Free access for eligible user groups to research facilities - Support for travel and accommodation - On-site logistic support by the infrastructure staff - Access to knowledge and know-how at the research infrastructures necessary to complete the proposed experimental work The facilities can be used for experiments with either scientific or technological objectives. The call is open to European groups but also open (to a limited extent) to groups originating from emerging countries or international research centers. Next call will be launched in February 2018. 9th call for Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) in frame of the COST action FA1306

Dear colleagues, herewith I'd like to announce the 9th (and last) call for applications for Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) in frame of the COST action FA1306: The quest for tolerant varieties - Phenotyping at plant and cellular level. COST Short term scientific missions<http://www.cost.eu/service/glossary/STSM> (STSM) provide access to labs throughout Europe and beyond<http://www.plant-phenotyping.org/management_participants_costfa1306> for young and promising scientists (PhD students in the last year and early career investigators (ECIs), PostDocs less than 8 years after PhD) in order to get introduced and trained with respect to novel technologies of plant phenotyping (on a whole plant and molecular level, as well as integrative approaches). This COST action provides access to a network of phenotyping experts and serves as a platform to get acquainted with this interdisciplinary field by practical training in experienced labs and interdisciplinary communication.
